Oh, one star you say yup, thank you for using then and than correctly Other than that this book was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.Being a mother of two, I enjoy writing reviews However, I have not been able to write the last 3 books that I have finished Yet this one gets a review because I do not want anyone else to waste their time with this book.I am also also a person who HAS TO finish a book This was so horrible that by the time I got to 73% done I started skimming through to make sure I wasn t going to miss anything and by 87% THEY INTRODUDED A NEW CHARACTER AND WROTE FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE.Two authors wrote this book TWO And two people thought that in the first sex scene lubricated vagina was appropriate to have readers want to continue reading after that Really just for my guilty pleasure if you have ever said lubricated vagina during the act, please comment below, because I now want to have a personal pole its been four months since I ve moved and seen Nolan next chapter Nolans perspective four months earlier Really, the authors did this for no reason at all They could have written from Nolans perspective first This happened a lot in this book So not only were there really weird time frames but the alternating point of views were all over the place And I love to read from alternating point of views all I am saying, is do not waste your time I read the reviews before I read this book and thought, its still doesn t sound to bad, and how can you not like the boss and secretary story oh my god, it is that bad, and I had to write all the reason why for you to NOT READ THIS BOOK.

Abby spills coffee on a sexy stranger, and later discovers that he s her new boss, Nolan She doesn t offer to pay for his dry cleaning, which I think is a little bad mannered, and is a pretty good indicator of what type of person she is.Her original boss, Liza, is Nolan s sister and she s off on maternity leave so Nolan is taking over the office Abby and Nolan check each other s sexiness out, and Abby does vague PA jobs finding files and setting up meetings and Nolan does vague business work reading files and going to meetings. They stare at each other s naughty bits for a couple of chapters, and then go up to Nolan s cabin for a weekend of blunt sex They have some good times, have a few laughs, and admire each other s prettiness and smarts It s all going great, and then Nolan s dad, who had a heart attack just before the dirty weekend, dies. And this is by far the most interesting development in the book because Abby is then stuck not knowing where she stands Does she offer emotional support as a girlfriend, or was the weekend just a weekend and she s back to her role of employee To complicate it even further, she s jetting off to spend Christmas with her family in St Kitts, and at the funeral, Nolan s ex wife is all over Nolan to the extent that Abby is no longer sure just how ex she actually is Abby s phone isn t working properly, so she can t get messages, and it doesn t even occur to her that she could call text Nolan herself. While Abby does have a legitimate amount of confusion over the status of their relationship, she comes off as petulant and self centred in the face of Nolan s family tragedy.Nolan makes a speedy recovery from his grief because he s discovered that his hated brother in law is attempting to steal a significant chunk of family property, and Nolan s ex wife has been named as co inheritor, with Nolan, of 50% of Nolan s father s assets He sets this aside for the moment to focus on exposing the brother in law.And this exposes a big plot flaw, because Nolan now has a big plot adventure that has absolutely nothing to do with Abby, or with romance and sorting out relationships Even tellingly, why is the brother in law Nolan s villain, and not his sister s The whole plot arc goes down like a procedural, with sections time stamped, and Nolan investigating leads, and confronting sub villains and gathering evidence It s only after the fact that Nolan visits his sister, cuddles his tiny new nephew and is all by the way, your husband tried to steal from us and had affairs with two women, so probably you should divorce him At least Abby in St Kitts is having romance related adventures around deciding what she wants from Nolan and from life in general. So, once Nolan has wrapped up his first villain, his ex wife strikes She s his actual villain, so that whole brother in law plot could have been completely left out The ex has decided that she will force Nolan to love her again by threatening to sell off her shares, thereby destabilising the family business, unless Nolan agrees to end his budding relationship with Abby Nolan reluctantly agrees. So when Abby gets back to work, Nolan tells her it s over and Abby quits and moves to a new city to start a new life in her dream job.By the time Nolan sorts out his ex wife s threat and reunites with Abby, I d have been happy for this book to end Instead the plot reasserts the villain s additional villainy with the discovery that he murdered Nolan s dad.And then it gets even frustrating, because we re back to time stamped sections, and a completely new character, a cop, is introduced to investigate the murder It s all set out from the cop s point of view, and I don t care about him, and I thought the murder was an unnecessary detail it s there to prove that Nolan s first instinct was correct. While it s sensible that a cop would investigate a murder, rather than one of the existing characters, it s a really clunky way of telling a story and added absolutely nothing to the romance.I never really recovered enough liking for Abby I m all for characters having a recognisable human failing, like failing to offer emotional support because they don t know where they stand, but this wasn t addressed in the book Instead, Abby is encouraged to follow her dreams, which has the unfortunate effect of piling self centredness on self centredness. While Nolan is active in solving his own problems, the situation with his ex wife sends him into a passive aggressive role and he comes across as weak I d have far preferred him to work through an actual romance ambiguity, where he struggled because he thought a romance with Abby meant he had to sacrifice some long held view or plan, and then ultimately realised being with her was than worth it.Finally, sedition is absolutely the wrong word to use in the title of this book, because it has nothing to do with anything in the book There s enough early promise for me to leave this book at a three star review, but the whole thing really goes off the rails at around the halfway mark.

I couldn t get very far in this novel The characters were shallow and acted illogically It was clear to me from the minute the empty filing cabinets were discovered what was going on, and I m not even the boss How old is Abby She acts like a 13 year old not a woman who s graduated from college and been working in the corporate world for a while And for someone who hasn t been interested in dating for the past few years, her thoughts jump to sexual encounters pretty fast. The plot is boring and predictable, and the narration is filled with inconsequential minutia There are ways to illustrate a trip to the mall that make it interesting rather than a bullet list of actions I.e Not I opened the door and walked into the mall I went into this store and then that store and these are the things I bought Can t even skim this to find out how the characters deal with the corporate drama.

OkayI couldn t stop reading once I began I m not a quitter, however if I were this would have been the opportune time to quit reading this book A lot of gibberish To much unnecessary details He turned the ignition off, put the keys in his pocket That kinda page filler nonsense Uggghhh About 2 days of wasted time Ok here we go with the spoilers I guess this was supposed to be an erotic romantic suspense I really don t know Nolan meets Abby by her bumping into him in a coffee shop Literally Once back at her office she meets the new boss CEO. Guess who Yep, it s the guy she just spilled coffee on Oh forgot to mention it was love at first sight He s been divorced for about a year Falls for Abby but the ex wife has control and demands he break it off or in so many words she s gonna bankrupt him He actually breaks it off for about 4 months She quits working there and moves to another state No contact this entire time Father dies but we later find he s actually murdered by Nolan s money grubbing low down brother in law Sister divorces him He goes to jail Nolan Abby marry and have a son Yep that s about the gist of it See what I mean Summed it all up in less than 2 minutes but it took me two days to read it.

I received a Free ARC copy of The Sexy Boss in exchange for a review.First and foremost, yay to me getting an ARC I m super pleased I had a chance to read and review this book Now down to business This book is about Abby and Nolan, Abby has been working for Nolan s sister when she decides to hands the rains over to her brother, upon Abby and Nolan meeting one another you can say the clearly felt a pull towards one another and they were certainly wanting to take next steps to see where things can go with their amazing chemistry However one ex wife and an annoying and dangerous brother in law later things don t necessarily go to plan Overall I I had high hopes for this book, both characters were likeable and I wanted them to get it on however it simply moved a little too slow for me, and it felt like it lacked a little bit of that passion I ve come to expect from Z.L s books. However If you want something sweet with a HEA then I would recommend you check it out T

A very contemporary romance which is intensely passionate and really makes you feel your characters While both Abby Nolan have a few bumps in the road, the happy ending is not a disappointment.I think the people, emotions character scenes that draw you in, are based quite realistically.I received a Free ARC copy of The Sexy Boss in exchange for a review, however I had previously purchased the original 2 part book as I have been following Z.L Arkadie for quite sometime and really enjoy the way Zuleika tells a story I like this new version as the alternate ending gives closure on some of the loose ends left over in the original Collaborating with another author has certainly not spoilt the pleasure of reading another sensational book.

I received an ARC copy for an honest review.Enjoyable story about the sexy boss, Nolan, and his efficient observant assistant, Abby, and their trials to find love It s very hard to review without any spoilers Sex scenes were hot I felt Abby Nolan were relatable characters that you wanted to root for The end of book was far less detailed and seemed a little rushed My heart broke several times for Liza during this book I would love for her to get a HEA.

Pretty immature writing styleI found this book to be one of the most juvenile and predictable books I ve ever read I felt no chemistry between the protagonists The dialogue was awkward at best I wouldn t recommend this book As usual, I m baffled by so many 5 star ratings Did we read the same book
